Honest review of Chris Gibson’s Ginale skin care line.

Ginale skin care line looks like Chris Gibson’s attempt to enter the lucrative acne product business. So instead of selling you something once he hopes to get his hands on your wallet every month.

I wouldn’t recommend them because they are expensive, risky and, like all quick-fixes, dubious.

Let me tell you why.

When I started researching Ginale it struck me how little information I could find. I could find only few comments and reviews at popular acne and skin care forums.

Perhaps the product is still new, or perhaps there’s another reason for this.

At least I wasn’t greeted with barrage of paid reviews and comments that’s so common with most acne products.

Points for honesty, in that regard, to Mr. Gibson. Because I don’t think he would have paid for the few comments I found. They were all negative, such as this one.

I stopped using the antibiotics and proactive alltogether and bought the book acne free in 3 days. I did the stuff in the book along with acnezine. My face was cleared up. But I thought hey this new Ginale Skin care treatment that Chris Gibson made looks good, and I bought that. Worse thing I have ever done in my whole life. It broke me out completly worse than I have ever had before. I wish I could post before and after pictures of how good my skin looked when I was using Proactive or the Derm stuff.

http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=202611&hl=ginale

So far not so good.

Then I found this from the Ginale sales page:

The products you see below work at the cellular level by healing, hydrating, and renewing your skin like no other product on the market.

This is probably just harmless buffing, but it gives me an excuse for a reality check.

Please understand that none of these products ‘work at the cellular level and heal your skin’. That’s complete and utter BS.

The only thing that can heal your skin is your body. Healing is a complex function. Skin care products, such as Ginale, are inert and very much dead. How could dead substances suddenly achieve complex tasks (that are encoded into your DNA)?

Of course they can’t.

It’s just marketing buff designed to make you believe these products actually do something useful.

And please don’t think Ginale, or any other creams or lotions, can somehow nourish your skin. The nutrients in these are not in a form your cells can use. Nourishment happens from the inside out. Not the outside in.

They can only clean your skin and scrape dead skin cells off.

Sure that’s useful, but do you need 5 bottles for that? Especially at the cost of $85. When a normal soap and baking soda can do the same thing.

And I’ve seen too many complaints about Chris Gibson and his Acne Free in 3 Days to trust anything he says.

I mean, he claims that Acne Free in 3 Days is “Scientifically Proven Way To Permanently Clear Skin In Just Three Days”. On top of that he wants to put you on auto-ship program and send his Ginale skin care products to you every 60 days.

Something stinks here.

At least this time he’s honest about the money back guarantee. At the time of writing the sales page for Ginale reads (emphasis mine):

Better Than Risk-Free 30 Day Money Back Guarantee

As always, your order will be backed by the following better than risk-free 30 day money back guarantee:

“We promise the item(s) being received will be brand new and unopened. If you are not totally satisfied with the quality of the item(s), simply return the item(s) within 30 days of receiving them for a complete refund of the purchase price (less shipping and handling). The item(s) being returned must be unopened (package seals must not be broken) and unused to receive a full refund. Opened or used item(s) are not eligible for a refund.”

http://www.acnefreein3days.com/catalog/ginale.php

So as long as you are willing to order the products and only admire the beautiful package you are eligible for a refund. But if you try the product and find out they stink - tough luck.

Just makes me wonder how do you judge the quality of the items without using them… If you know, please enlighten me.

Finally I noticed that some items in the Ginale package make you sensitive to sunlight. You should avoid sun at all costs, and on top of that one of the jars contain sunscreen.

A bit of sunlight is essential for permanently clear and healthy skin. As I wrote in this post: 4 Ways sun helps with acne.

In my books avoiding sunlight to have a healthy and glowing skin is idiotic. It takes a dermatologist to recommend something like that.

I know this review has been negative. I hope I presented my case and reasons clearly.

I just don’t see a point in paying $85 to support a person with questionable business ethics. Especially since Ginale skin care line won’t offer anything you could find at less than 1/2 price from your local supermarket or health store.

You might as well just flush the money down the toilet. Long term the effect on your skin is the same. And at least you won’t produce 5 bottles of plastic waste doing so.

Real solution to clear and beautiful skin comes from the inside out. It won’t break your bank, but it does take some self-discipline. Get your act together and decide to do it. It’s not that difficult once you decide to do it.

I show you how in Clear for Life.

Give me your email address and I'll take the mystery out of curing acne.

I regretfully took Chris Gibson’s advice and used the Skin Culture Peel 3000 and I’ve completely broken out along with having an allergic reaction! I’ve just been beside myself as my acne WAS clearing up before doing this. I’m seeing a Skin Care Coach now to heal it all up. I will be demanding my money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Nikolaj Says:

Great review on the product , clear skin is really a natural thing not a cream and pill spolution.

  3. Jacqui Says:

I bought that book aswell and it really isnt that good, especially putting castor oil on ur face, whats up with that???
The best thing u can do is drink lots of tea! It works for me taking lots of fluids gives u better skin…

  4. allyson Says:

i have bin reviewing all these different acne solutions and every time i read something negative it comes back to you,…so tell me what is the best acne soultion then?

  5. Seppo Says:

Allyson, I write negative reviews of many acne products simply because they cannot work. It’s possible they help you to manage symptoms, but none will ‘cure’ your acne.

Simply because acne cannot be treated topically - or even with pills. It’s an internal problem that comes down to your diet and lifestyle.

  6. Sophie Says:

Your website is exactly the same as Chris Gibson’s- what’s that all about?

None of what you have written is true! if u suffer from acne trying to mentally get rid of it is stupid, thats not goin to work. The best way to get rid of acne is using gentle, healthy ingredients like the GinalĂ© Skin Care, and drink lots of water! it’s nothing to do with lifestyle. yes stress can make acne worse but even people who have a great, calm lifestyle can suffer from acne!

  7. Lanna Says:

I have had severe acne for over 10 years and got Chris Gibsons book free with some Ginale products. I read the book and made some recommended changes and my acne has completely gone! I am amazed after suffering so long how simple it was; I have not even done the 3 day detox he recommends.
Personally I like the Ginale products. For a whole decade I have been trying every product on the market and I am only happy using Philosophy and Ginale. These products really clean your skin without striping them. I live in the UK and have Ginale shipped from USA - I wouldn’t do that unless they were worth it, and to me they are.
Although I am delighted my acne has finally gone I feel a little bitter over how simple the solution was! If I had known what I know now ten years ago it would have saved me alot of suffering and hiding myself away from the world.
I have noticed on a lot of acne blogs people claiming that Chris Gibsons recommendations are rubbish. It always seems that these same people admit they never followed his program EXACTLY.
Don’t dismiss something unless you have tried it exactly as recommended!

  8. Seppo Says:

    Lana,

Congratulations for getting clear - I sincerely hope it lasts.

Your acne was probably due to food allergies and eliminating that allergenic food got you clear.

Most of us aren’t that lucky.

For many it’s a far tougher and longer battle. I had to go far, far beyond the simple advice in Acne Free in 3 Days to clear my acne. And I know it’s the same for many of my customers.

That said, I’ve never said that Acne Free in 3 Days would be garbage, or that it wouldn’t help anyone. You can read my review of Acne Free in 3 Days to check for yourself.

I’ve always said it’s a step to the right direction. Not just a very big one.

I just detest the way he markets his book, and I know I’m not the only here. For many acne victims it’s nowhere near the “scientifically proven way to permanently clear skin in just three days” that he claims it to be.

If you got clear following his advice, I’m sincerely happy for you. And if you like his products, even better for you. Keep using them. I’m sure they are as good topicals as any other product would be.

  9. Shadow Says:

Its been nearly 3 years since
my downfall into the lingering shadows.
Exactly 1year ago i found out about chris
and his teaching methods, about the book
acne free in 3 days the “scientifically proven
way to get rid of acne in 3 days”. I tried
many of his little explotations, like eating apples
continuously for a week, sleeping alot, many
other unumberable suggestions from dermatologists, pills, and all the usual facial creams.

Now i know for sure why Chris’s book works. Its simply_the age split. Mainly people who have passed their teens had a succesful result using his teachings, because fruit
does restore balance in your skin from all those vitamins that include Cerola500, etc…
But lets not forget what is the difference between a teen and an adult?
The answer is simple= A huge cycle of hormones that you intake everyday naturally, doing nothing or, taking dairy products, sugars, fats, or even MENSTRUATING.
Well thats what i found out, because when i stopped doing all those things my acne stopped growing.
But did it go away? The answer is simple, NO”.
    Then i told myself,

“I have tried everything, waiting and
even doing daily exercises “inside” NOTHING CAN GET RID OF MY ACNE BUT ADULTOOD.
I know my conclusion might be delusional
if someone over 18 kept breaking out acne,
if they didnt eat sugars and the other harsh contents in foods.
But you know if this doesnt work, what does?!

    A couple of months passed,
i decided i was going to go “Outside”
And i was going to “KILL OFF MY ACNE!”
“I WAS GOING TO GET FIT!”
and thats exactly what i did,
    i went swimming 30-40laps everyday,
worked out at the fitness center outside at
the park and did some ab stretches a week passed, and i havent been having a proper diet eating all the sugars i could get my hands on. But the exercise sure paid off, i can truly say,my pimples diminued, so im going to start a good diet, and keep fighting.
    and keep getting fit,

The Truth Is_ Everyone, EVERYONE, is,
    ……..
    DIFFERENT.
    I can honestly say,
A good workout works for EVERYONE,
facecreams, and unvoluntary daily acts being ceased in life doesnt work for
    EVERYONE.
    Be Fit and Be Free,

Hopefully I will, by the end of the month.

  10. Skizz Says:

I’m sick of people like you trying to focus on every negative aspect of every product that comes out onto the market. Sure there is alot out there, but if your such an expert then you of all people should know that everyone is uniquely different. This product tries help a broad range of people in their fight. Just because it didin’t work for you doesn’t mean its not going to work for someone else. When you come up with a perfect solution let me no so i can try it then bag the crap out of it.

  11. Seppo Says:

    Skizz,

Thanks for the enlightening comments. I just wonder why you get so pissed off when I give my opinion about a product?

Perhaps you make money selling it to people?

Whatever the case may be if you’ve read my blog or writings you know that in my books pretty much all acne products stink. Simply because they cannot and won’t address the real cause of acne.

To get permanently clear skin you need to make some diet and lifestyle changes.

  12. rippedoff Says:

good luck getting your money back from skin culture usa. i also had an allergic reaction. sent the products back and after 11 wks am still waiting for my refund. only one guy to contact by email or phone. some guy going by the name chris christopher. sounds like a scam to me.

  13. Seppo Says:

If they don’t want to give you a refund you can always contact your credit card company and ask them for a charge back. They can reverse the payment if you can show to them that the seller didn’t honor their promises.

  14. Emma Says:

Seppo, what is your profession? Do you have a degree in biology, dermatology or a health science of any kind??
You’re reviews & comments sound completely uneducated. Blasting a man’s product & research & then only offering the solution of, “To get permanently clear skin you need to make some diet and lifestyle changes”. “Some” lifestyle changes?? How vague!! If you truly had the solution to acne, and ANY idea how everyday people suffer with acne, you’d be shouting your “real” solution to clear skin from the mountain tops!!
If you truly have the “answer” then let’s hear it, and not just be asked for our name & email & sent to another website that wants our money.
    Regards.

  15. Seppo Says:

Sorry if my negative review offended you. Perhaps I should say that I believe all topical and easy solutions to acne stink. This negativity is in no way exclusive to Chris Gibson’s products.

Emma, my website has more than enough free articles and information available without registration to make those vague suggestions less vague.

And unfortunately when you should the solution from mountaintop people don’t believe you.

  16. Sandra Says:

I am 60 years old and still use acne products on my face. I have very oily skin, still have pimples, blackheads, peeling and some cystic acne. Since I am a “girl” I can cover it with make-up and always have. The make-up may contribute somewhat to the problem but it’s worth it to me to not be a pizza face. I have been lucky in that I have not scarred severely, but mostly in the nose and chin areas. I have used MANY over the counter products and some expensive skin care products, such as Mary Kay - (I don’t recommend it for Anybody with acne!) Some other big name products (I don’t even remember the name, but it was purchased at a beauty salon) that I paid $50 for and it broke me out in 3 days! They said that it would do that while it was bringing everything to the surface! I think that is just an excuse. If it breaks you out, don’t use it! I took Accutane (when it first came out) at age 35 and it helped for about 10 years but it isn’t really an option any more…too dangerous for child-bearing age. I have used the Exposed group of products. I liked them immediately but they worked too slowly …and didn’t seem to tighten my skin…:) remember my age! I quit them after my second order because I think Neutrogena oil-free products work just as well and I can get them at Walmart! EVERYONE has a different reaction to every product and we all have to find the product that is right for us! Chris Gibson found what worked for him and it WILL work for a lot of people and it Won’t work for a lot of people. I have ordered his book to check it out.) I don’t think it is necessary to get nasty about it…just go on and find what works for you. If you find one that works and it is expensive, give up a few unnecessary things and buy it!!! You will waste that money on something else anyway! I wish you all well and hope you won’t be writing a letter like this when you are 60!
Chris, thank you to all the people you HAVE helped! Be honest and loyal to your people and you will have a great business!

  17. Kim Says:

I have had to deal with acne for just about 8 years, and at this point it is almost completely gone. Actually I wouldn’t say I actually suffer with it anymore, except for the occasional breakout, or my skin not looking powdery smooth around those stressful times. After reading some comments I have to admit I see bits of truth in quite a few. I discovered while reading a health secret book the causes of acne, and I have to say it explains why so many people argue about how “this worked amazingly” for them while another handful go on about how “that doesn’t work” .

The fact is I agree with the statement that one needs a healthy lifestyle. It doesn’t directly affect your acne, but it affects your system, which would in turn affect the ways your body tells you something is wrong, like by breaking out. It’s more like, eating a bar of chocolate every once in a while wont hurt nearly as badly as avoiding fruits and vegetables like the plague. Also genetics, and I suppose your environment will affect the degree to which a poor diet will affect you. You have to know your own body to determine what you should and shouldn’t do.

To clear up something, there are SEVERAL reasons why people suffer from acne, and depending on the reason, would determine what will work for you. One is dehydration, so drink looottss of water!! Sometime it’s hormonal, I believe that is why women sometimes find birth control pills help with their acne(but I wouldn’t recommend this unless you really can’t find anything else that would work), it’s probably the reason why some people suffer with acne in teenage life (when the hormones aren’t fully settled). There is also candida, parasites and allergies (ironically one of my friends was allergic to a key ingredient found in most acne products, so his own cleared up after he stopped using them). There may be other reasons that I don’t know about, aside from common things like stress.

What I found worked for ME was one a slight change in diet, the greater the change, the better the results. Adding a lot of fresh fruits really helped. (I did this for my exams to help me focus better, but when i was doing it my skin looked radiant, so I’m going to do it again- the first thing I ate on a morning was an orange (eat very acid things on an empty stomach) an apple a kiwi and sometimes strawberries and a banana).

Now I will admit that before I changed my diet, I had some facials done (Pure T acne facials) and I use the pure T (germaine de capuccine products) simply because I have verrry sensitive skin and this is the only thing that doesn’t feel like it will burn the skin right off my face, and so far it has been the most effective product (for me).

I would recommend it, but where I live it is kind of expensive, so it may not be your first option if you can get other things to work for you.

The best advice I can give to anyone is to try to have regular bowel movements (that means once to twice DAILY, not every other day). It keeps your system clean, which would at the very least improve your health somewhat and that is mondo important.(This is difficult for some people to achieve like me, I can only get this going for 2 weeks at a time, but as soon as my body gets accustomed to my new diet, I have to find some way to change it otherwise I suffer with constipation, even though I’m eating a lot of roughage. I have to say that if you can find a way to maintain that once to twice daily routine, then that would be GREAT!!)

Oh btw exercising can sometimes make the acne a little worse in the beginning, because of the sweat, sometimes (for some people like me) even if you was it off right after it still affects your skin, but that doesn’t mean you don’t exercise, because in the big picture exercising is VITAL to good health, which makes for a better opperating system which would eventually help the whole acne situation.

Oh and don’t forget to exfoliate!! But make sure you find the right one for you. I tried some that really didn’t help me, so I bout one of those microdermabrasion kits form neutrogena, and I’ve only used it once, but I think it’s pretty good. Oh and how could I forget, don’t touch your face other than when you are washing it, and when applying any creams make sure your hands are rreealllyy clean, otherwise you would be rubbing dirt into it.

I almost forgot, don’t go in too much sun, while it may appear to improve the acne in the beginning, its actually damaging your skin and you will suffer the consequences of it later. Of course, don’t avoid it like a virus, a little sun is good for you (the amount of course depending on where you live, the time of the day your out in the sun, and your own body)

Well those are the things that I found worked for me and maybe they will work for someone else out there. (Sometimes when i get a pimple i put ice on it to send it down-probably out of paranoia that I will end up with a messy face again- but it works to send it away a little faster, but I’m not sure how good it is for you though like what the side effects actually are, but I reason that since pimples are swellings of the skin (with other things) and when you get huge black and blues etc, you use ice to send it down, I figured its the same principle, but I’m really not sure.

So Good Luck, hope I was able to help someone with this information, because acne sooooo isn’t fun!

  18. Seppo Says:

    Kim,

Excellent points. Thanks for sharing them.

I agree with you that there are so many different causes and reasons for acne. Each of us is different and the same solution rarely works for everyone. Health is the magic word and that’s what you need to do if you want to get clear - and remain clear.

However what we needs to do to improve our health changes from person to person.

I’d also like to add that sometimes we have to go beyond the body. If the mind is sick it may not allow the body to heal. We may need to deal with whatever mental traumas or problems we may have suffered and repressed.

  19. Alexei A. Morgun Says:

ok i had acne for a probably one year now..

    and it stopped …
    only sometimes..
    do i get a pimple..

    but

    this Chris Gibson thing..
    actually made me think…
that his skin care products could help me..

and i was about to buy some,
    however this post,
    made me think otherwise
i don’t know what to do..

    at all..

and i have been eating fruits
and drinking nothing but water and green tea..
    i mean.. nothing else..

and i have not seen any changes to my face

i have read numerous blogs and articles
    talking about natural cures
    like lemons, cucumbers, tomatoes,
but i also tried applying those to my face..
    and no changes have occurred,

i am so tired of it ..
    i mean.. i hate it
it bugs me on a daily basis
and i was wondering if you have any opinions
on what can actually work … like Aloe Vera?
do u know if that’s good?

    i am also considering surgery..
    would you recommend microdermabrasion?
i heard it’s good in removing scars,

    any advice would be appreciated
i am just really tired of this,
    but thanks
    alex,

  20. Seppo Says:

Chris Gibson’s products may or may not work for you. You never know. All I’m saying is that perhaps you’d be better off trying some cheaper stuff first, since I hardly believe Mr. Gibson’s products have any definite edge over much cheaper products. The price is a reflection of marketing.

I don’t know what you’ve been doing and eating so it’s hard to give any concrete advice. But I do know that once people start taking their health seriously they usually start seeing improvements on their skins also.

  21. Sandra Dian Says:

I was thinking of purchasing Chris Gibson’s Ginale products after receiving many promotional emails from his company, Universal Marketing Media.

However, your comments got me thinking and lead me to look more into these products that he said HE CREATED.

What I found out was shocking to say the least. The line of products that he says he personally developed is nothing more than a private label range of skin care products. For those not familiar with private labelling, this is where a company produces a product and allows other companies to buy and put their own label (brand) on it.

You can get exactly the same products that he uses in his Ginale range from this company http://www.twosha.com or even this company http://s3skincare.com. The only difference is that the jars are branded differently and use different product names.

The private label company that Chris Gibson gets his products from is http://www.naturalskincare.com

Now it may be that these products are good in their own right - who knows. But, one things for certain, and that is the only thing that Chris Gibson developed in his Ginale range of products is the labels that he stuck on them.

Another certainty is that CHRIS GIBSON WILL NOT BE GETTING MY BUSINESS!

  22. Courtney Says:

    RESPONDING TO “RIPPED OFF” COMMENT:

Hi, whoever is getting the skin culture usa peels DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT GET THEM !!!!!!!

I bought the peel over a YEAR ago & never received it, I had to file a dispute b/c they are SCAMMERS !!! If you go the REAL, AUTHENTIC skin culture site, you will see that they even give you a sale price, and will actually give you an even bigger (50%) discount if you have been scammed by these people. PLEASE —- go to this site!!! The man behind this is Chris Christopher, and YES, he has scammed you. He might answer an email, or pick up the phone once a month, just to keep you thinking they are the real deal…. but they are NOT.

    Thank you for reading this…..
oh, & if you go to the real skin culture site
    http://www.skinculture.com/
They will even tell you that skincultureusa
    is in fact SCAMMING people

    Thank you,
    -Court

  23. Sandra Dian Says:

Courtney your comments are soooo true. You would be interested to know that:

    - the website http://www.skincultureUSA.com is owned by a company called UNIVERSAL MARKETING MEDIA

    - Universal Marketing Media is owned by CHRIS GIBSON - the scam artist!

I purchased a skin peel from the REAL Skin Culture site, http://www.skinculture.com, about 4 years ago and was pleased with both the product and service. However, I think that they should be a lot more careful in who they choose to sell their products. It is clear that Chris Gibson and his dishonest ways has not done them any favors.

  24. Seppo Says:

Thanks for these comments. I really appreciate you guys sharing your findings.

  25. Richard Says:

I purchased from myginale.com, which is the same company, UNIVERSAL MARKETING MEDIA by Chris Gibson. I purchased over 6 weeks ago, and they never shipped my products due to back-order. After 2 weeks, I realized I wanted to get a refund and they told me I would receive one. But after 4 weeks, I never received a refund and they stopped responding to my emails. So just last week, I did a back-charge through my credit card’s company, and finally got my refund that way. I felt that this was a legitimate company, but even if you try to call them at their phone, all you can do is leave a message and they never actually answer. They never even called me back. So I think this company overall, UNIVERSAL MARKETING MEDIA, has bad customer support and bad service overall. I can hardly believe the products even work. I tried the acnefreein3days e-book, but it totally doesn’t work. I do not recommend buying from this company.

  26. Hernando Says:

I purchased a complete pack from myginale.com (7 items), and they only sent me three of them. After emailing to all of the emails I could find from this company and his owner (using whois), they’ve just replied me once telling that the left items would be shipping promptly. They never arrived!!. This company (Universal Marketing Media) and his owner (Chris Gibson), is a totally SCAM.
