Here’s something interesting for a change.

It’ a wacky new product called Acne Pen. Don’t expect this to be a permanent solution, but I can see some uses for this.

I can explain Acne Pen better when we take a look at it.

You use Acne Pen by putting the metal ball tip on your pimple. Acne Pen then ‘sprays’ the pimple with microscopic silver particles.

Silver is strongly antimicrobial. So it kills the bacteria and that should take care of the pimple. In alternative health field silver has been used for long for it’s antimicrobial properties.

So in theory Acne Pen seems to work nicely.

Of course Acne Pen only deals with the most superficial symptoms that lead to acne. It does nothing to the root cause of acne. So don’t expect it to cure your acne.

Still, it can be a good ‘emergency’ treatment. When you see a new pimple coming up just ‘zap’ it with Acne Pen and it should be gone in a day or two.

Acne Pen works with the same idea as Zeno Zit Zapper. Where Zeno uses heat Acne Pen uses silver.

Acne Pen will set you back $117 (at the time of writing). I think that’s a reasonable price for an emergency treatment option. Assuming that it works like it’s advertised.

It’s sad – but frankly nothing surprising.
Just look around & you’ll see people always looking for quick fixes & miracle cures- & not just for acne alone.
Science is advancing @ such a lightning speed that people become lazy & start developing this “I deserve everything by doing nothing”‘ mentality.
In twisted logic it works like this:
why torture youself with boring diet & exercise when all yr problems can be solved by just one supposedly scientifically-proven cure? Money? Oh, but of course!! If it costs this much it must be a product of good worth. Little wonder most of us will never overcome the subtle seduction of the snake-oil merchants.

I use “blacksoap” on my face now in instread of all the chemical crap I used to use like Proactiv. My skin is not anyworse, it is getting better slowly but in desperate need of exfoliating. Is sugar or Baking Soda a good alternative to other scrubs? Maybe mixing my blacksoap in with some sugar??? I would greatly appreciate a response!! Thank you, Marie

    Marie,

Unfortunately I’m not an expert on external skin care. When you take care of the internal problems your skin takes care of itself just fine.

But I’ve heard that baking soda is a good scrub. It could be irritating so try it out carefully. I have no idea about sugar.

With these questions you would be better off asking someone who has experience and interest in them.
